“Mate tomorrow is our match…” my pal Sam shouted from the other side of the road.
“I know Sam… we are gonna win that” I shouted back and started to walk.
“Wait up dude…wait for me I am coming” the signal changed and Sam started crossing the road.
Sam and I have been friends from Middle School and we are together in High School too. Both of us play for our school in the Sunday league.
“Why are you in such a hurry pal?” Sam asked.
“Why do you ask?”
“See dude I know that this girl of yours is quite demanding…So is she coming to the match tomorrow?”
“Yeah”
“Then you have got your hands full…you have to make us win the game tomorrow”
“You are also playing aren’t you?”
“Of course I am”
“So you should be equally responsible”
“That I am dude…but who else gets a chance to play the poacher in front of one’s girl friend…”
“I know my role tomorrow”
“Opponents fear you man, they know how destructive you can be in front of goal”
“Old man has already told me that”
“Alright then it’s Adios for now”
“Okay Bye”
Sam left. I was walking alone. I came at the entrance of Alexandra Park School and stood by the tree in front of the school gate.
“Miroku” it was Evie’s voice.
Evie is my girlfriend. We are in a long standing relationship. She was the most beautiful girl in her school. Most of the boys craved for her physical attributes rather than anything else. That is quite natural with boys. But apart from her feminine characteristics i liked her eyes. Those brown eyes of her spoke volumes about her. Many a times I spent gazing at them. We used to hang out with each other a lot before our relationship began. During one such occasion, she caught me staring at her. She was used to it. Every boy of the area liked to gaze upon such beauty. But their viewpoint and mine were different. Maybe Evie understood that and that's why she chose to be with me.
“Hi!” I greeted her.
“Let’s go Miroku.” She said as she gently pulled my arm.
“Where?” I asked.
“To your home of course” She replied.
“Oh!”
“I have something to tell you today.” Anxiety clear in her tone.
“Go on,” I said carelessly.
“Mind if I stay with you from now on?”
“Stay with me?” I was startled at her question.
“Yeah...you know right…the living together and all that…will you not let me stay with you?” Her tone became more anxious.
“I don’t have any problem…” I said.
“That’s Great…that is why I love you so much!” Evie's tone became overjoyed at my reply.
She kissed me on my cheeks and we went back home together.
